When Baby Audio took over Denise Audio in 2023, we started a process of modernizing the existing plugin catalog. So far, we've revamped Bass XL (Bass XXL), The Sweeper (Motion Filter), and Perfect Room (Perfect Room 2). And we plan to eventually make it through the entire Denise catalog.
While we're working through the old catalog, we've decided to not actively promote the old products. This is for the simple reason that we believe they need a bit of love and improvement before they're on par with the new products.
However, not promoting these products doesn't mean that we've removed them for continued use by their owners – or even purchase by prospective owners.
This post serves as a guide on how to continue using, downloading and purchasing our back catalog.
First things first: If you've already downloaded, installed and activated the old plugins, then there's nothing you need to do. They'll just continue working. The below uncovers other scenarios - such as installing on a new computer or buying/redeeming new licenses from our back catalog.
I own an old plugin, how do I continue using the product I bought:
Your license, and purchased license key, are still active and you can download the latest version of the product(s) you own here. You can also navigate to the Legacy Downloads page from the Downloads tab at the top of our website. Everything will work as normal through the download and activation process, including on any new/future computers.
I am a subscriber of Plugin Collection Plan and you promised the full Denise catalog with my subscription – how do I use the old plugins:
The Plugin Collection Plan has always activated, and still activates, all the old Denise Plugins. Simply download them from the legacy downloads page and they will work with any active subscription. We don't show them on the website or in the manager App as part of our decision to not actively promote them until we have revamped versions. But to be clear, the subscription will continue to give you full access to all of these plugins if you wish to use them.
I am a subscriber of Plugin Collection Plan, can I redeem the old plugins with my credits:
Yes. Going forward, we are changing the redemption email that is sent out when you earn a new credit to include information on how you opt to redeem the old Denise products instead of our actively promoted products. This will be sent to all Plugin Collection Plan users when they earn a credit. You can also reach out to us any time at support@babyaud.io if you have existing credits you want to apply to the old catalog.
I want to buy one of the old plugins, is that possible:
Yes. While we do not promote them actively, we're more than happy to serve any customers who want to buy an old plugin. You have two options: 1. write us an email at support@babyaud.io and we'll setup a manual checkout link for any plugin you wish to buy at a list price of $39 per license. Or go to Plugin Boutique who still sell the old catalog, including a bundle with all products.
Will you continue to support the old plugins:
Yes. What you own is yours and we'll continue to support it and give you access to it.
Will I get a discount for upgrading to the future revamps even if the old products are not displayed for sale:
Yes. The same upgrade discount that applied from e.g. Perfect Room to Perfect Room 2 will also apply for other old products to their future revamps and your ownership of the existing product will continue to qualify you for such an upgrade discount.
I love the old products, why do you feel you can't "actively promote" them:
They're great products, built on state-of-the-art underlying DSP. And anyone who wants to use them can, as explained in the above. However, there are little quirks - especially on the UI side - that make them not fully up to the standards we wish to present to prospective customers. The decision to currently not promote these products comes from a place of perfectionism and wanting future users to only be presented to the very best options we can offer.
